Mutual Fund Portfolio

Build your portfolio online

Start with a clear goal, then match your funds to it.

The first step in building a portfolio is a clear goal. Once you have one, the rest of the portfolio is easier to build.

Short-term goals

At PrudentFP, we treat short-term and long-term goals differently. Short-term goals are best met with fixed-income investments, such as a bank fixed deposit or a liquid or other diversified debt fund.

If you are saving gradually towards such a goal, a bank recurring deposit may do. It yields 5.8 per cent per annum, so use it only for goals two to three years away. Beyond that, the low returns start to hurt.

Long-term goals

For long-term goals, a portfolio of equity mutual funds is the best option. Equity is the only asset type that can grow your money faster than inflation. Fixed income is safer but generally cannot beat inflation.

Equity funds suit goals 7 to 15 years away. They can be volatile in the first 0 to 5 years, and market ups and downs can cause temporary losses. We do not recommend equity funds if your goal is closer than three to five years. Equity demands discipline, regular investing and enough time.

Before you invest, set your financial goals. Then choose schemes by time horizon, which helps you set your risk tolerance and ideal asset allocation: the mix of liquid, debt and equity in your portfolio.

Your portfolio, online

We offer online services to manage your mutual fund portfolio and other investments. With Wealth Magic Portfolio Online, you get a consolidated view of all your holdings in all funds we service, in one window.

Mutual funds then let you build a diversified portfolio. Diversification does not protect against losses in a falling market, but it spreads risk within and across asset classes.

We will guide you through

  • What is my risk profile?
  • Are all my mutual fund schemes mapped to my financial goals?
  • What should my asset allocation be?
  • How long should I stay invested?
  • Why do I need to diversify?
  • Is my investment objective income or growth?
  • Does my current equity exposure match my risk appetite?
  • Is my portfolio built to create wealth, or to chase high returns?
Disclaimer. We do not promise that the investments you make based on this plan will be profitable. Investments are always subject to various market, currency, and economic, political and business risks. We will not be liable for any losses that may be caused directly or indirectly by such investment decisions.

GST Filing Returns

File GST returns with ease

Accurate, on-time filing so you can focus on growing your business.

GST returns are filed online, but they must be correct so that tax credit passes to the next stage.

Every registered dealer must file, even with zero turnover. A regular business files at least two returns each month, GSTR-3B and GSTR-1. Late filing attracts a late fee of Rs 50 per day, plus interest on the tax due. We handle this time-consuming task for you.

Key returns and due dates

  • GSTR-3B: monthly summary, due by the 20th of each month.
  • GSTR-1: details of outward supplies, due on the 10th of each month or quarter, depending on turnover.
  • GSTR-4: for composition scheme dealers, filed quarterly.
  • GSTR-9: annual return, due by 31 December.

What we do as your GST Practitioner

  • Apply for new GST registration
  • File the monthly GSTR-3B return
  • Claim input tax credit on inward goods and services
  • Furnish quarterly GSTR-1 and GSTR-4 (composition dealer) returns
  • Deposit funds into the electronic cash ledger
  • File refund claims, after your confirmation
  • File applications to amend or cancel registration, after your confirmation
  • Appear as your authorised representative

Packages for small traders, contractors and service providers

Each package covers monthly GSTR-3B and GSTR-1, input tax credit set-off, tax payment and the annual GSTR-9, up to 30 invoices a month including sales and purchases.

Proprietorship

For individuals with a new GST registration whose business is yet to start.

Rs 12,000 + GST per year

AOP, partnership firm or private limited company

For businesses with gross annual turnover up to Rs 5 crore.

Rs 15,000 + GST per year

Composition scheme

For taxpayers who opted for the composition scheme. Covers the quarterly GSTR-4 and compliance support.

Rs 6,000 + GST per year

Customised

For special business needs. Fees depend on the returns and volume involved, and we provide ongoing support on GST and its practical application.

Income Tax Returns

Easy e-filing, expert advice

Professional filing and tax planning at an affordable cost.

Many taxpayers are unsure about the law, the procedure and which form, income and tax regime apply to them. We take care of all three.

We also support rectifications and revised returns, investment declarations, job changes, increments, proof submission, capital asset sales, self-assessment tax and advance tax through the year.

  • Lower your tax liability within the law.
  • Invest what you save to build wealth.
  • Choose tax-saving options that match your age, liabilities and preferences.
  • Use the incentives the Government offers, with no evasion.

Whatever your circumstances and goals, we advise you on the tax reduction techniques that suit you.

Business and professional income (presumptive)

For businesses with annual turnover up to Rs 3 crore that need no tax audit, and professionals with turnover below Rs 75 lakh. No balance sheet is needed.

Rs 1,500 + GST, or 10% of the refund, whichever is higher.

Capital gains and relief under Section 89

If you sold shares, mutual funds or property, you must report each transaction under Schedule 112A. Claiming relief under Section 89(1) needs Form 10E, which is hard to fill without expertise.

From Rs 2,000 to Rs 3,000 + GST.

TDS on property purchase from a resident (Form 26QB)

For property above Rs 50 lakh, you deduct 1% TDS from the seller. We handle TRACES registration, Form 26QB, Form 16B and expert support by email and phone.

TDS on property purchase from an NRI (Section 195)

For property above Rs 50 lakh, you deduct 20% TDS plus surcharge and file under a new TAN. We handle TAN registration, the TDS return, Form 16B and expert support.

Rs 5,000 + GST.

Post-filing assistance

If you receive a tax notice, we reply online on your behalf and, if needed, represent you in scrutiny cases. We keep a complete tax file with your returns, assessment orders, notices and refunds, plus a document vault. We also update you on tax law changes by email and phone.

Note. In every case you get a simple report of your incomes, deductions and tax liability, with a pre-filled offline and online tax e-challan, to review before we file.

Home  /  Goal GPS

Goal GPS Online

Think Goal... Achieve Goal...

Link every investment to a goal and track it until you get there.

Goal GPS is a roadmap for your investments.

Many investors put money into funds hoping for high returns. Without clear goals and regular tracking, funds are managed poorly and drift from their purpose, and gains can turn into losses.

To reach any target amount, link each investment to a goal and track it continuously. At PrudentFP, we help you turn real-life goals into a systematic investment strategy. Goal GPS lets you set long-term objectives and prepare a standard plan to meet them. These can be a car, a child’s education, a holiday, retirement or a house.

Without investment goals

  • Returns on invested funds are irregular.
  • There is no consistent pattern of investing.
  • You may lose notional gains because you get no updates on fund progress.
  • Your investments are left to the market in a recession, because you have no specific goals.
  • Your investing runs on luck by chance, not luck by choice.

Goal GPS helps you avoid these problems.

How Goal GPS helps

  • Structured planning and mapping of funds across different assets, including mutual funds.
  • Specific objectives for each goal, such as child education, a car, a house or retirement.
  • Regular tracking, so goals are achieved within the set time.
  • New funds can be allocated at any time alongside existing investments.
  • Periodic review of your investments.

What Goal GPS focuses on

  • Systematic goal planning for the future.
  • A strategy built after calculating inflation and future cost.
  • Funds mapped and allocated across multiple assets, including SIPs.
  • New funds mapped as per your plan.
  • A tracker that monitors the status of your investments.

Goal GPS can help almost every investor. We recommend the online mobile app and a Wealth Elite Desk login for uninterrupted service and full use of the feature.

Suitability

Goal GPS suits you if you are serious about your financial life, want a long-term relationship and understand that this is an ongoing process until your goals are achieved. It maps each of your financial needs and gives purpose to your existing and future investments.

It also suits you if you want your financial life fully organised, suitable investments, a way out of unsuitable products, and a disciplined, goal-based investment plan.

Home  /  Beware of Impostors

Beware of Impostors

Stay alert to fake advisers and verify before you trust.

Financial scams are rising. Some people pose as registered investment advisers to cheat investors out of their savings. Know how to spot them.

Fraudsters misuse the names and reputations of trusted professionals. This page explains how these scams work, how to confirm you are dealing with the real PrudentFP, and how to protect yourself.

Why impersonators are a threat

Fraudsters create fake social media profiles, messaging groups and websites that look like those of real advisers. They make false claims and show fake results to win trust. Once you trust them, they ask for money transfers or offer fake plans that promise high returns. Some even use the names of real SEBI-registered advisers and contact people by email, WhatsApp or Telegram. These scams cause losses to innocent people and damage the reputation of honest advisers.

How these scams work

  • Fake profiles on WhatsApp, Telegram, Instagram and LinkedIn.
  • The name and photo of a real SEBI-registered adviser.
  • Promises of guaranteed or high returns in a short time.
  • Fake profit screenshots to attract attention.
  • Requests to transfer money to personal bank accounts or UPI IDs.
  • Pressure tactics such as “limited-time offer” or “last chance”.

How to identify the real PrudentFP

Suresh Kumar Narula is a SEBI Registered Investment Adviser (Reg. No. INA100001877), providing fee-based, fiduciary financial planning. We do not distribute products. Confirm you are dealing with us:

  • Our official website is prudentfp.in.
  • Our official emails are info@prudentfp.in and info@prudentfp.in, and our phone number is +91 98160 02197.
  • Our services are offered with proper agreements and documentation.
  • You can verify our registration on the SEBI website.

If a message reaches you from anywhere other than these official channels, it is not from us.

What we will never do

  • Promise guaranteed or fixed investment returns.
  • Ask for your banking passwords, login details or OTPs.
  • Pressure you to invest quickly.
  • Ask you to pay without a formal agreement. Check any payment details with us by phone before you pay.

Red flags to watch for

  • Promises of high or guaranteed returns with no risk.
  • Pressure to invest quickly or miss a “limited offer”.
  • Use of free email addresses such as Gmail or Yahoo for firm business.
  • Requests for payment without a formal agreement.
  • No proper documentation, client onboarding or risk profiling.
  • Urgent requests for your personal or financial details.

If you notice any of these signs, stop all communication and verify the person’s identity.

How to protect yourself

  1. Always verify an adviser’s SEBI registration number at sebi.gov.in.
  2. Do not invest based on WhatsApp or Telegram messages.
  3. Do not transfer money to individuals offering fast profits.
  4. Ask for documentation before you agree to any financial advice.
  5. Trust only official channels, such as emails from the firm’s domain and its official website.

If you encounter a fraud

  • Do not engage further with the person.
  • Take screenshots of the messages or profile as evidence.
  • Email us at info@prudentfp.in to report the impersonator.
  • Report it to SEBI through SCORES.
  • File a complaint with your local cybercrime department.

Your quick action may help prevent others from falling into the same trap.

Our commitment to you

Verify before you trust, do not fall for quick-return promises, use only official channels, and report suspicious activity immediately. Our approach is fee-based and fiduciary, and we do not distribute products. If anything feels suspicious, contact us directly.

Why Pay Fee for Financial Advice?

Pay for the value of independent advice, not for hidden commissions.

You pay us a fee of just 1%* and get 99% clarity and peace of mind: 100% committed financial success.

Most people avoid paid services because they focus on the fee, not the value. We are used to getting things at a lower price, or free, and we treat fees as an expense rather than an investment in the growth of our wealth.

The cost of free advice

Many people buy products they neither need nor understand, such as endowment, money-back or ULIP policies bought for tax saving or as insurance-cum-investment. On a premium of Rs 50,000 a year, about Rs 15,000 can go in commission or allocation charges the moment you sign.

That commission goes to an agent who does not help you meet your long-term goals, and yet a Rs 15,000 fee for a financial planner who could change your financial life is called too costly. Free advice can turn out to be very expensive in the long run.

Why PrudentFP

We are SEBI Registered Investment Advisers (RIA) and fiduciaries. We do not distribute products and we are independent, so we think only of your best interests. We can improve your financial life and help you benefit over the long term.

Home  /  Invest for Goals, Not for Returns

Invest for Goals, Not for Returns

Measure your funds against your own goals, not against the market or your friends.

Your goals set your benchmark, not the Nifty, the Sensex or your friend’s fund.

Many investors worry about low mutual fund returns because they compare their fund directly with the Nifty or Sensex. That comparison often misleads, because every scheme has its own objective and benchmark, set under regulation for the fund manager to beat.

Your fund and its manager do not know your goals, time horizon or risk profile. You need to set your own benchmark, and it differs for every investor.

Set the return your goals need

Suppose you invest Rs 5,000 a month for your child’s education. You are advised that a 10% CAGR will reach about Rs 50 lakh in 20 years, so 10% becomes your benchmark.

If your fund returns 21% in a year and your friend’s returns 34%, your fund may look weak. In fact you are ahead of your own target. If your fund returns 5% while your friend’s loses 10%, you may feel relieved, but you have fallen short of your 10% target. Either way, look at yourself and your goals first, then at others. Without goals, comparison with others is the only benchmark you have.

SEBI’s re-categorisation of schemes

SEBI’s new categories allow a fund house only one scheme in each category, such as one large-cap fund or one tax-saving fund. Fund houses have renamed, changed or merged schemes to comply. Some schemes moved from multi-cap to large-cap, and others from mid-cap to large-cap.

If you now hold two large-cap funds, you may be overweight in one category and carrying concentrated risk. Review your whole portfolio, risk appetite and return expectations before switching. Standalone decisions can lead to unnecessary tax and hassle. We have started revamping our clients’ portfolios in phases, in line with their risk profiles, time horizons and goals.

Different times give different returns

The figures below date from the time of the original article, when the Sensex had crossed 35,800 at a lifetime high. Large-cap equity funds had returned 10.89% in one year and a 14.23% CAGR over five years. Multi-cap funds returned 10.30% over one year and 18.14% CAGR over five. Mid-cap and small-cap funds returned five-year CAGRs of 23.91% and 30.50%. These are high because the starting point is 2013.

Looking back to the 2008 subprime crisis, large-cap funds averaged a 6.01% CAGR, multi-cap 7.89%, mid-cap 9.52% and small-cap 10.95%. For lump-sum investors in the frothy market of 2000, the Nifty 50 delivered 10.33% CAGR, large-cap funds 12.89%, mid-cap funds 16.3% and multi-cap funds 14.53%. These investors had 17 years to recover from their initial losses.

Most of us invest according to income, cash flow and goals, so we cannot time the market. Time in the market matters more than timing the market.

Lower your expectations

When you invest at a market high, reduce your return expectations. Even for a goal three to five years away, factor in about 11% a year after tax from equity funds, rather than 15% or 20%. With a 10% long-term capital gains tax on equity, planning for a lower return keeps you from falling short. If your funds deliver more, you can cash out early.

At a market high, your portfolio may not deliver positive returns within one to three years. Build a buffer and be ready to extend your holding period by two or three years. If your equity fund is beating its benchmark and has a strong long-term record, do not switch to a newer fund just to lift returns. Ignore one-year performance and look at five- and 10-year rankings. How a fund contained losses in the last bear phase can matter more than its returns in the current rally.

Disclaimer. Return figures are historical and illustrative, and are not a forecast. We do not promise that your investments will be profitable. Investments are subject to market, currency, economic, political and business risks, and we are not liable for losses from investment decisions.
Home  /  The Secret of Goal-based SIPs

The Secret of Goal-based SIPs

Tie every SIP to a goal, and invest with discipline through every market.

A SIP is the simplest way to invest a fixed sum regularly in an equity fund, whatever the market is doing.

Over the long term, a SIP gives you compounding and rupee cost averaging. You buy more units when markets are down and fewer when they are up, so your average cost can be lower than if you had tried to time the market.

Many investors stop investing when markets fall and invest more when they rise, which can backfire. A SIP removes both habits. It is not a magic tool and does not guarantee superior returns. The choice of fund and regular review of its performance matter, because a SIP in an underperforming fund will not give good returns.

Rupee cost averaging

Each SIP instalment buys units at the NAV of the day, so you invest across all market phases. Suppose you invest Rs 10,000 a month at NAVs of Rs 100, 150, 50, 100 and 200. You buy 100, 66.66, 200, 100 and 50 units. Your total investment of Rs 50,000 buys 516.66 units, an average cost of Rs 96.77, which is below four of the five NAVs.

In a steadily rising market, a SIP can raise your average cost. Markets are mostly volatile, so spreading your investment lets you benefit from frequent lows. A SIP also automates investing and separates it from your sentiment.

SIP for your children’s future

List long-term goals such as higher education and marriage, then estimate each one in today’s rupees and inflate it. If education costs Rs 10 lakh today and costs rise 10% a year, you will need Rs 25.94 lakh in 10 years. With the target known, you can start a monthly SIP to build that corpus, or ask a financial planner for help.

SIP for retirement

Retirement can last 30 to 40 years, and regular income stops. The best time to start saving is when you start working. As an illustration, a monthly SIP of Rs 10,000 from age 23, raised by 10% every year and earning 12% a year, grows to about Rs 23 crore at 60. This comes from compounding and discipline, and the assumed return is not guaranteed.

SIP for buying a house

The main challenge is the down payment. A house worth Rs 1 crore may need Rs 20 lakh upfront. Saving Rs 20,000 a month in a sweep-in fixed deposit at 6.5% takes 6.65 years to reach Rs 20 lakh. A SIP in a good equity fund returning 12% a year could take 5.76 years. These figures are illustrations, and a longer horizon may let you avoid a loan.

SIP for a vacation

A vacation fund through a monthly SIP makes sense after you have funded retirement and goals such as your children’s education and marriage. As your income grows, raise the SIP amount.

The secret lies here

Start early and you can build substantial wealth with smaller sums. If you start late, invest a higher amount systematically and move your existing investments into equity. To reach Rs 1 crore by 60 at 12% a year, a SIP of Rs 1,540 a month from age 25 is enough. Starting at 40 needs Rs 10,009 a month.

Keep a long-term horizon with equity. It is volatile in the short term, so do not panic when markets fall. Raise your SIP each year as your pay rises.

For the second leg, list all your investments and review each one. Hold term insurance only, and surrender unit-linked and endowment policies, which give neither good returns nor enough cover. Cut your PPF contribution to the minimum that keeps the account active, and use a tax-saving mutual fund instead. Consider selling investment property and moving the money to equity funds. Park it first in a debt fund from the same fund house, then transfer it in systematically, not as a lump sum.

Disclaimer. Figures are illustrations based on assumed returns. We do not promise that your investments will be profitable. Investments are subject to market, currency, economic, political and business risks, and we are not liable for losses from investment decisions.

Simplify Your Financial Life

Simple choices lead to better investment decisions and help you reach your goals.

Simple solutions exist for organising your finances, yet we tend to choose complexity. We say we want simplicity, but we assume an important problem needs a complex answer. Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication: it is both beautiful and functional.

Many clients are disappointed when we recommend plain, simple products. They want something thrilling that delivers fast results, and they keep asking what is new in the market. But wealth is built through discipline, and you do not need to do anything extraordinary to win financially. You need to follow a few basic rules of personal finance. Here they are.

Simplicity is the key driver to get peace of mind

We firmly believe that keeping things simple is the key to making the right investment decisions. Simplicity is not a useful characteristic, it is absolutely mandatory. If you do not fully understand about any financial product or service, then you are stepping towards in a dark future, regardless of how good it may otherwise appear or even actually be. And such understanding cannot come with complex products.

Everything is simple enough to understand and simple enough to track. You will have a clear idea of what did well and what didn’t. The investments that do well will have a large and clear impact on your investments, and the ones that don’t will be easy to single out. The more complex your investments are, the more difficult this is. Simple ideas are best, simply because when they succeed, the reasons are obvious. And when they fail, the reasons are obvious too.

Home  /  About  /  Our Philosophy

Our Philosophy

Ethics & integrity in every engagement

Ethics and integrity guide every engagement. We put your interests first, advise independently, and explain every recommendation.

Two people shaking hands

At PrudentFP, you have rights over the services we provide and over the products we recommend.

Ethics and integrity guide how we work with you, and they shape each of the principles below.

Honesty, competency and ethical conduct

Honesty means more than a truthful answer. It means being open and forthright with you. We keep our skills and knowledge current, and you are welcome to ask how we do that. We share all the information that affects your financial decisions, along with the reasoning behind every decision made on your behalf.

Independent and objective advice

Our advice rests on informed analysis, prudent judgement and diligent effort, always in the context of your situation, needs and goals. Every recommendation is holistic, and we explain why it suits you. We ask that you engage with us to understand the reasoning, and we will share updates in whichever form you prefer, whether electronic, written or verbal.

Integrity, professionalism and your best interests

We put your interests ahead of our own and act as a fiduciary, following professional codes of conduct and all applicable rules. We sit on your side of the table. That is how we earn your trust, and it is the basis of a long-term, win-win relationship.

Fair treatment

Fairness starts with disclosing the capacity in which we advise you. It does not mean treating every client the same. Each client has different objectives and risk tolerance, so portfolios differ, and so do their results in rising and falling markets. That reflects individual advice, not unequal treatment.

Disclosure of conflicts of interest

Our advice is based solely on your benefit, circumstances and goals, never on our personal interests. You can always ask us how we are paid, whether by commission, brokerage or a flat fee, because the way an adviser is compensated can influence the advice. High embedded commissions can steer recommendations towards less suitable products. Any conflict of interest should be disclosed in the documents we share with you.

Investment rationale and philosophy

We base decisions on facts and figures that directly concern your finances, needs and goals, and you may ask for the rationale behind each one. We aim to give you an Investment Policy Statement that sets out our investment philosophy, policies, guidelines and constraints, so the relationship stays clear and transparent.

Clarity on charges

You are entitled to a detailed explanation of our services, our professional fee and the charges on any products we suggest. We provide a brochure explaining the fee, and we make sure you understand the schedule and how often it is charged. Similar work attracts a similar fee for every client.

Data integrity and confidentiality

Your personal and financial information is private. Only we and the staff directly involved in your advice or reporting can access it, and we use it only for its intended purpose. We disclose it to others only if the law or a regulator with lawful jurisdiction requires it.

Appropriate and complete records

We document the advice we give and the plan we make, and share it with you as appropriate. The record covers the information you provided, the work behind our advice, the products suggested and why. It supports compliance, and it helps any future adviser understand the thinking behind your portfolio when it is reviewed.

Suresh Kumar Narula

FOUNDER & PRINCIPAL FINANCIAL PLANNER AT PRUDENTFP

He is a Certified Financial Planner, SEBI Registered Investment Adviser, Tax and GST Practitioner. He founded PrudentFP to give families fee-based , unbiased financial planning with simplified solutions.

PrudentFP is a Panchkula (Chandigarh) based financial planning and tax advisory firm that works with families and individuals on a fee-only basis.

We were founded by Suresh Kumar Narula, a SEBI Registered Investment Adviser and GST Practitioner. Since 2011 we have helped clients across India and abroad with detailed, holistic planning, tax and GST advice, supported by technology. Clients trust us for our competence, the quality of our advice, and our integrity.

How it began

Suresh has worked on an advisory model since he entered financial services in 2004. Starting in insurance, he gathered basic information from each client, analysed it and recommended what to do. Clients valued this approach, and its early success encouraged him to build on it.

The Certified Financial Planner (CFP) programme gave him the knowledge and skills for a professional planning practice. He enrolled at once and began practising while still halfway through the course. PrudentFP was born then, and he completed the CFP certification in 2011.

Why financial planning

We see financial planning as a noble profession, much like medicine. Many people earn well yet manage their money poorly. Avoidable mistakes set them back by years and leave them worried about the future.

We start with your situation and goals. We look at your family, risk profile, working years, when each goal falls due, liquidity and tenure needs, and tax. From this we build the right asset allocation, a complete overhaul of your existing portfolio, and the insurance your family needs. You are consulted throughout, and the result is a plan made for you: a blueprint to follow towards financial freedom.

Our journey so far

We were among the first in North India to offer financial planning and advisory services, so we had little to copy and learned by experimenting. We listened to our clients, learned their pain points and built solutions around them. Our Comprehensive Planning & Advisory engagement came out of this journey.

Get clarity and peace of mind about your future.

Ongoing Financial Advisory

Your plan, kept on track

Regular reviews, implementation support and advice from a fee-only fiduciary.

A financial plan is the start of the journey. Ongoing advisory keeps you on the road.

Some clients are happy to carry out the plan on their own, and our engagement ends once the plan is delivered. Many others want continued advice along with help to implement, manage and report on their investments.

Under the ongoing engagement, we hold regular client sessions, plan and portfolio reviews and financial consultations. If your situation changes, we update the plan or recreate it completely as part of the same engagement.

Implementation is where many plans fail. Short of time or experience, clients often act on only part of the advice, or act wrongly. Our implementation partners onboard you on an online platform and provide reporting and back-office support.

Monetary benefits

Advisory wealth effect

Savings rarely reach their full potential without a capable advisor. At the least, an advisor brings discipline and regularity to investing, reviews the portfolio and replaces funds that underperform.

Lower costs with direct mutual fund plans

Direct plans can cost less than regular plans, by about 0.8% to 1% a year at portfolio level. On a Rs 1 crore portfolio, that is Rs 80,000 to Rs 1 lakh.

Cheaper insurance

We suggest online term plans for life cover and online health plans for hospitalisation. These can cost 15% to 35% less than offline policies sold through agents. On a Rs 1 lakh premium, that is Rs 15,000 to Rs 35,000 a year.

Complimentary income tax return

On every renewal of the ongoing engagement, we e-file the annual return for you and your spouse. Separately, this typically costs Rs 1,200 to Rs 4,000 a year.

Tax efficiency

We place new and existing investments where they fit your portfolio and are tax efficient, considering risk, reward, tenure and taxation.

Efficient money management

Money for each goal and upcoming need goes into the right assets after weighing risk, liquidity, taxation and tenure. Even liquidity and contingency funds are placed in suitable vehicles.

Non-monetary benefits

Conflict-free advice

We are fee-only fiduciaries. We sell no products and earn no commissions, so our advice is always in your interest.

A streamlined, aligned portfolio

We review your portfolio every six months to keep it aligned with your life needs, and we suggest corrections whenever the market calls for them.

Avoiding big mistakes

Wrong insurance, PMS, structured products, chit funds or unsuitable mutual fund schemes can drain large sums. With us, you can spot and avoid them.

Better decisions

We help you decide on loans, insurance, a home purchase, children’s foreign education and how to fund it, and choose the right product in each area at optimal cost.

A sounding board

You have someone to turn to on money matters, for sound and aligned advice that gives you clarity and peace of mind.

The gift of time

Implementing on your own takes time during working hours, and often ends in delay or partial action. Our operations team carries out many of the suggestions for you.

Many services in one

Plan creation, review, recast, portfolio review, implementation and consultations are all included, so you do not pay for each separately.

A variable fee

Our fee depends on the services you choose, the work involved and the level of engagement. It is based on Assets under Advice (AUA), so it varies with the assets we advise on. This ties our compensation to our responsibility for your finances.

As SEBI-registered Investment Advisers, we may charge up to 2.5% of AUA a year under the SEBI Investment Advisers Regulations. We do not distribute products and we are independent.

We are fee-only advisors. We work in your best interests, always.

Home  /  Invest Mutual Fund Online

Invest Mutual Fund Online

One account, every fund

Invest, track and manage all your mutual funds online, from anywhere in the world.

Wouldn't it be convenient to hold all your mutual funds in one account? It is possible through us.

Many investors hold a mix of ELSS, equity and debt funds from five or six fund houses, bought through agents or distributors. Each fund house needs its own forms and its own online login, so tracking the paperwork becomes a chore.

We offer a non-discretionary, fully online mutual fund service. You work closely with us, and you can access your investments from any part of the world.

Choose how you invest

SEBI permits two forms of intermediation, distribution and investment advice, so you can choose the PrudentFP experience that suits you.

Advisory (Direct Plans). We sign a contract with you to advise on and maintain your mutual funds under Direct Plans only. Our investment advisory fee is 1% a year of average Assets under Advice (AUA), payable monthly, or any other fee we agree in a separate advisory agreement.

Distribution (Regular Plans). We invest in Regular Plans only, and we earn a small commission from the fund houses, regulated and capped by SEBI. You pay no separate fee and no hidden charges.

Your portfolio, built around your goals

We review any mutual fund portfolio you already hold, then design a customised portfolio around your goals and risk profile. The plan sets out the schemes, the recommended amount and mode of investment, and the performance history of each fund.

A seamless online portal powered by NSE

You invest through NSE Invest, the stock exchange's own platform, which needs no demat account. It is used for Regular Plan transactions only. We act on your request and with your written consent, and we monitor and periodically review your portfolio at your request.

Wealth Elite: your wealth in one view

Through Wealth Elite, on desktop and mobile app, you can buy, start SIPs and switch between funds yourself, using a separate login from your advisor. You also get one consolidated view of your investments.

It is free for PrudentFP clients who invest in Regular Plans. Your mutual fund investments are tracked automatically, and you can add bank FDs, insurance, P2P, shares, post office schemes, PPF/EPF, real estate and loans against mutual funds manually to see your complete picture under one login.

Disclaimer. The transaction portal is run by NSE (National Stock Exchange). PrudentFP is not responsible if a transaction fails, though this is unlikely, and you can contact us for help. We do not promise that your investments will be profitable. Investments are subject to market, currency, economic, political and business risks, and we are not liable for losses from investment decisions. Registration granted by SEBI, membership of BASL and certification from NISM do not guarantee performance or assure returns.

Home  /  Loan Against Mutual Fund

Loan Against Mutual Fund

Get funds without selling your investments

Borrow against your mutual fund units and keep your portfolio growing.

Whether it is a holiday, a business venture or an unexpected expense, a loan against mutual funds gives you cash without selling your investments.

You pledge your mutual fund units as collateral and borrow against their value, while your investments stay intact. The loan amount depends on the value of the units pledged, and the interest rate is generally lower than on unsecured loans.

Benefits

Keep your investments growing

You avoid selling prematurely, so you continue to benefit from potential capital appreciation and compounding on your holdings while you meet your financial needs.

Quick and convenient

Our online process makes application and approval simple. It is generally faster than a traditional loan, because the lender already holds the units as collateral.

Lower interest rates

The rate is 10.49%, even with a low CIBIL score, which is lower than most unsecured loans. Collateral reduces the lender’s risk, so terms are more favourable.

Flexible repayment

Choose regular monthly instalments or a single bullet payment at the end of the tenure, to suit your finances and goals.

No tax on the loan

Redeeming mutual funds can attract long-term or short-term capital gains tax on your gains. Borrowing against your funds does not, because a loan is not a sale.

Conclusion

A loan against mutual funds is an effective way to get liquidity without selling your investments. It offers flexibility, lower interest rates and quick access to funds, which makes it an attractive alternative to traditional loans. Borrowers should consider the risks, including market volatility and its impact on their investments.

MSME / Udyam Registration

Paperless, self-declared and permanent

Register your enterprise and get easier access to bank loans and government benefits.

Udyam Registration is a paperless self-declaration that entrepreneurs use to register their enterprises.

Enterprise categories

  • Micro: investment in plant, machinery and equipment up to Rs 1 crore, and turnover up to Rs 5 crore.
  • Small: investment up to Rs 10 crore, and turnover up to Rs 50 crore.
  • Medium: investment up to Rs 50 crore, and turnover up to Rs 250 crore.

Why it is easy

You need no documents or proof except your Aadhaar number. Because Udyam is integrated with the Income Tax and GSTIN systems, your PAN and GST-linked investment details are pulled in automatically.

You receive a permanent registration number and a certificate with a QR code from which your enterprise details can be accessed.

The registration process

Anyone starting a micro, small or medium enterprise can apply under the MSME Act. The process runs on your self-declaration. You get a permanent Udyam registration number, and then a virtual Udyam registration certificate.

Why you need Udyam registration

  • Collateral-free loans from any bank.
  • A lower interest rate on loans from your bank or NBFC.
  • Lower charges on claims.
  • Concessions on electricity bills.
  • Subsidies from the National Small Industries Corporation and other government bodies.
  • Reimbursement of the cost of ISO certification.
  • Excise exemption under the Government of India scheme.
  • Tax exemptions without difficulty.

Comprehensive Financial Plan - The Simplest Way...

Get Your Roadmap Today

A clear plan for your goals: where to invest, how much to invest each month, and how much insurance you need.

Comprehensive Financial plan will view your each financial decision as a part of whole, while considering your long term and short term effects on your life goals.

Managing money is hard. A financial plan gives you a roadmap to your goals, based on your current situation.

A plan takes your earnings and goals, then tells you where to invest, how much to invest each month, and how much insurance you need to stay on track.

If you plan to retire in 20 years, for example, it tells you which mutual funds to buy and how much to put in large-, mid- and small-caps. Without a plan, you may end up in products that leave risks uncovered and returns lower than they could be.

It is also a reference to check progress and adjust as needed.

Plan Overview

We start with your earnings, expenses, savings and liabilities. Savings minus debt gives your net worth, your starting point.

Income minus expenses shows how much you can invest each month.

Next, your goals: short-term (an annual holiday), medium-term (a car or house) and long-term (retirement, children’s marriage).

Then we map a strategy. For long-term goals, depending on your risk appetite, we may suggest up to 80% in equities. For short-term goals, we may use ultra-short-term or corporate bond funds. Life and health insurance ensure that death or hospitalisation does not dent your family’s finances.

This is the overview. The full plan includes much more detailed analysis and our investment recommendations.

Let the financial plan be your guiding light.
